Weinstein Television ontwikkelt Elvis biopic

Weinstein Television heeft vandaag een samenwerking aangekondigd voor een tv-serie gebaseerd op het leven van “The King of Rock n’ Roll.” De 8-10 delige Elvis biopic zal zich richten op elk aspect van Elvis’ leven, met toegang tot zijn persoonlijke archieven waaronder dagboeken, kleding, auto en zijn Graceland huis. Weinstein Television werkt samen met het Presley Estate, Priscilla Presley, Jerry Schilling, Harvey Weinstein en David Glasser. Priscilla Presley zei:

“I’m a big fan of Harvey Weinstein’s independent films. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him on this show and tell the story of how Elvis changed the culture of music and initiated a revolution that changed the world.”

Elvis Presley is één van de meest belangrijke culturele iconen in de Amerikaanse geschiedenis en blijft het publiek over de hele wereld boeien. De serie is gebaseerd op het ‘Elvis’ door Dave Marsh en vertelt over het ongelooflijke leven en carrière van de iconische entertainer. Het zal het allereerste tv-project zijn die zal worden opgenomen in Elvis’ huis Graceland.
