Shadowhunters wordt geproduceerd door Constantin Film en zal geregisseerd worden door Ed Decter and McG. McG zal de eerste aflevering voor zijn rekening nemen. Dit houd in dat er geen tweede film komt in de Mortal Instruments serie.
Shadowhunters zal te zien zijn vanaf 12 januari 2016 op de zender Freeform (voorheen ABC Family)
